The white fig of Cilento in past times used to be called“bread of the poor”, because it was the meal for farmers who used to leave early in th morning. Over time it became a special product traditionally eaten during Christmas holidays.
Dried figs are delicious with cheese or covered by chocolate but are also perfect for starter or breakfast.
